The IT division on Wednesday stated over 6.63 crore earnings tax returns (ITRs) have been filed for the monetary 12 months 2020-21 until March 15, which is 16.7 lakh greater than the tax returns filed final 12 months.
March 15 was the final date for submitting ITR for the monetary 12 months 2020-21 by corporates and different taxpayers who should file audit experiences. The final date for people was December 31, 2021.
“As on March 15, 2022, over 6.63 crore Revenue Tax Returns (ITRs) had been filed for the 12 months 2021-22 on the brand new e-filing portal of the Revenue Tax Division… This reveals a rise of over 16.7 lakh ITRs in complete. Submitting of ITR for AY 2020-21 by March 15, 2021,” the IT division stated in an announcement.
Greater than 5.43 lakh ITRs had been filed as on March 15, 2022 as in comparison with 4.77 lakh ITRs filed on the due date final 12 months, whereas over 13.84 lakh ITRs had been filed within the final 5 days (as in comparison with 11.87 lakh earlier) .
Of the 6.63 crore ITRs filed for AY 2021-22, 46 per cent are ITR-1 (3.03 crores), 9 per cent ITR-2 (57.6 lakhs), 15 per cent ITR-3 (1.02 crores), 26 per cent. ITR-4 (1.75 crore) and a pair of% are ITR-5 (15.1 lakh), ITR-6 (9.3 lakh) and ITR-7 (2.18 lakh).
ITR Type 1 (Sahaj) and ITR Type 4 (Sugam) are less complicated varieties that cater to numerous small and medium taxpayers.
